Short Bio

My first agile experience involved piloting a small eXtreme Programming trial in our predominantly waterfall development environment. We found a lot of useful tools in XP, but management was uncomfortable with the notion of handing control of development over to the development team. Two years later, I introduced Scrum as a method of managing the development efforts. This offered management enough clear oversight to allow a full-scale trial. Three years later, we have several successful Scrum development efforts under our belt on a mid-sized project with multiple teams in multiple locations. We are currently struggling with Scaling agile and rolling it out at the Enterprise level. I am a CSM, CSPO, CSP and am the primary agile coach and trainer in our organization. I have trained Scrum teams in the U.S., Europe and India, and thoroughly enjoy any opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with the Agile Community. I am also the board president for the Chicago Chapter of the Agile Project Leadership Network (APLN-Chicago).
